I’m tempted by the Ventura modified Jazzmaster, but I’d appreciate any advice.

My old CIJ Jaguar went to Harry Seven. (It appears in his Wixsite gallery, sunburst with the witch hat "amp" knobs, between a Chibson LP Artisan and a Burns XII string.) Compared to the AVRI, it was heavy, its stock pickups and pots were utter crap, the vibrato tailpiece lacked an essential part, neck was simultaneously narrower and deeper than is typical for the claimed "vintage" year.
IMO, despite appearances, the Jaguar and Jazzmaster are two very different propositions. They sound different. They hang differently on a strap. Their control layouts may influence how easy you find them to use. Putting heavier string gauges on a Jag to maintain worthwhile string tension changes the ride.
In other words, unless you can afford one of each, you need to decide on which design to concentrate.

Currently I have a G&L Tribute Doheny. Out of them all, it’s stayed around the longest and is my favourite.
Different trem of course, and the pickups are different in design too. But I do like it the most out of all of them.....

I got one of these in February.
Value for money is astounding, as is the sound.

I added a Staytrem bridge but otherwise I can’t fault it and would highly recommend one.
My friend tried my Jazzmaster and was really impressed with the quality so bought the Vintera Jaguar in Ocean Turquoise and that is stunning. The pickups in both sound great.
Body and neck from @GoldenEraGuitars . I've not received them yet but he sent this pic:
Not a cheap option, but I get to choose all the parts I want to use. I reckon it will have cost me around £1,200 - £1,300 when done.
Can't wait to get it finished.

It's an olive green Am Pro body/pickups with a classic player neck. Not very vintage correct of course.

Only change I've made is to give the very glossy, sticky, neck finish a rub with 600 grit to make it satin. Transformed the feel.
