As I came out of rehearsal nearly a week ago there was a pub quiz going on and they played the opening chord to this one hit wonder.

Been driving me nuts cos I was out the door before I heard the answer.  But today I sussed it!

    Sonique, "It Feels So Good"

oh shit, just googled and found out that was 15 years ago.

Steve Vai - For the love of God. But to be honest I think I'd recognise almost every song I actually know from the first note or chord struck because I can't actually think of any 2 songs that have the same beginning!
Roland said: Scales are primarily a tool for categorising knowledge, not a rule for what can or cannot be played.
Supportact said: [my style is] probably more an accumulation of limitations and bad habits than a 'style'.

No it wasn't, it's good when you think about it. How about INXS "What You Need"

That is a very odd chord indeed, but instantly recognisable.

There are a few, but not many. I got caught out by one the other week, but I can't remember what it (or the other one!) was now...

"Take these three items, some WD-40, a vise grip, and a roll of duct tape. Any man worth his salt can fix almost any problem with this stuff alone." - Walt Kowalski

"Only two things are infinite - the universe, and human stupidity. And I'm not sure about the universe." - Albert Einstein
