I can hear the first bar (or less) of virtually any Iron Maiden/Metallica (upto and including the Black album) and know pretty much instantly what it is. Also Hendrix Hey Joe and All along the watchtower

They all seem so easy when they pop up on the radio...but stick em in a pop quiz..all becomes so hard.

8/10 The Selecter songs start with a drum fill so they are very hard to recognise until a good few seconds in even if you know them well. Somewhat of a PIA if your band does several songs by them I tells yee.Generally anything with a drum intro can confuse me.

Otherwise it is amazing how many intros I/ you/ we can recognise. An amazing feat of evolution to help us survive by knowing the sounds of edible/ inedible/ dangerous animals transformed into something only useful if you phone up Ken Bruce.
