Thorpyfx Veteran (or a Hudson Broadcast)
Source Audio EQ ( clean boost or mid boost settings)
and even a gain boost from my Boss dd500 on occasion if it makes things simpler.

as well as using the volume controls on guitars.

if I’m doing a tiny gig and just take my little Boss pedal board it’ll be an SD1 and BD2.

All this into a single channel JCM800 set almost clean.

Really depends. No rules. Either a TS, the boost side of the ZVex Box of Rock or just the volume knob fully up.
