@digitalscream Thanks for the clarification. I edited my previous post as I didn't mean to tell you how to run a forum, but I realised it read like that, sorry for the implication.  The point was that some members enjoy the forum whilst primarily only posting in the classifieds. Maybe if you charged a small listing fee it would resolve that side of things - you benefit financially without advertising and it would discourage people who aren't interested in the site as a whole?

The OP was totally reasonable, just a feature request. But when people have taken time out of their day to explain why it's not as easy as it sounds, and you're still trying to argue for it, that's when you come across as entitled. Selfish, even, since you clearly don't care about the headaches it'd cause the owner, having had them explained to you calmly and in detail.

Let's assume you're selling something, and you post an ad. with no pics but add an imgur link in a reply. Let's then suppose you get 800 views on your ad. but your items still don't sell. Who's losing out here?

Not me. If you can't be bothered to click a link that leads to several high quality photos that you can leisurely scroll through on a single page, on a phone or on a desktop machine, at your own pleasure... then I don't want to deal with ye!

I for one already give discounts to people on this forum, when I advertise stuff, that I don't give elsewhere. I'm not jumping through imaginary hoops to get a sale.
