Never met him, but knew about him - I spoke to him just the once a few years ago when I acquired one - Then all hell broke loose when I discussed it on FB - Sad to hear such news - Certainly a talented luthier if not everyone agrees with how he made his living - RIP

Sad news - re. the joke if I was the maker of high quality ‘fake/replica’ guitars I’d be chuffed with that comment after my passing.

Everyone’s humour is different though - mines probably quite dark and I don’t really think death needs to be off limits in the right spirit and context. The context was bang on here for me but I’d accept it could offend others.

I met Terry about 18 months ago and spent a few hours at his talking guitars and he was a very nice bloke and very generous with his time, whatever people think about what he did he was talented, passionate and one of the most welcoming people I’ve met. RIP Terry. I hope one day to own one of his instruments.

I met Terry a couple of times out At DD’s when he was buying his mahogany there. As everybody said really nice guy very very talented. I didn’t really agree with what he was doing mainly because I thought the quality of his guitars was so much better than the real Gibsons that it should’ve had his name on the head stock. RIP Terry.
