Some of you may have seen this for sale in the classifieds recently. I thought sod it!

Custom Shop 62 Strat.

It did have an aged white pickguard and its original one is a minty super green. This colour needs tort!

Done a few little 'upgrades' too. Mothers milk pickups, raw vintage saddles and springs. Also aged the dots and oiled the board and a final setup as I generally use girly 9's so a slight tweak of the truss rod was needed.

Really happy with the outcome.

By a weird series of events, I did originally by this new in 2017 from Coda. Only reason for returning? Narrow dots on a '62. No no no. Still bugs me. Ill pretend its a 63.

Nice guitar and I'm not usually much into Strats.

Looks lovely! Is it a slab board?
No round lam / veneer. Ive kind of preferred strats with round lam boards than slab. Probably just a coincidence rather than anything else.

    Nice.
I play guitar because I enjoy it rather than because I’m any good at it

Damn nice guitar buddy. Nothing girly about 9s on a strat.

This is the one with a 10/56 V neck, am I right?  I was tempted somewhat.  Very nice.

Lovely. My favourite combination. Got a CS order in for the same looking guitar with mostly modern spec.

Yeah 10/56V easily my favourite profile. Really similar to my Baja 50's tele too which is great.

Just goes to show that the learning never stops. I had no idea whatsoever about the dot spacing being different on certain years of production.

That’s lovely, congrats. Just wondering, how did you go about ageing the dots? Presume they were previously Micarta white?

    Thanks gents.

@SRD81 Yep they are micarta. I got the tip from someone on here, although the name escapes me so apologies if they see this!

I use a furniture wood marker I got from eBay. Give them a quick swirl and wipe. If you go too far, a bit of wire wool can bring it back. Seems to take well and I used it a few times. Although I did have a AVRI which it didn’t work on.

I can’t believe how dark that Rosewood is. Great neck profile too
