Strat Pickups - vintage vs high output signal/noise ratio

For higher output Stratocaster pickups is the signal-to-noise ratio higher?

i.e. Do you get more signal and the same amount of 50Hz hum? (Which would obviously be a good thing)

Or does the volume of the hum also increase proportionately with the output volume of the pickup?

Generally hum increases. It’s a function of the number of coil windings - to get more output without more hum you need more powerful magnets, like a Duncan Quarterpounder.
