DIY cardboard amp stand.

I made a thing, more of a functional template for when I try to make one out of wood.

Covered in masking tape to strengthen and tidy where needed, well sturdy and zero cost. When I do a proper one I'll make it collapsible so it takes up less space. Surprising how strong doubled up corrugated board is.

When I used to live in the city and go to gigs on the bus, I made a cardboard flightcase for my amp from an old box which fitted it perfectly, all the edges reinforced with gaffer tape, and a slot in the top for the amp’s handle. It was really strong but weighed almost nothing.

    Clever design, and surprisingly sturdy-looking.

Gaffer tape would have made it indestructible!
Thing works well, gave it a good went whilst Mrs Shady was at work today and the angle is spot on. It certainly sounds different, get a lot more detail and reduced flub when the speaker is pointing at yer face innit. I think I'm a closed back fanboi though, seems my open back needs to stay on the floor to retain the bass.

I was looking at a company that makes cardboard desks, couple of people from work using them now for home working, amazing really. Seem very sturdy.
    Anyway, loving that stand.

That looks great, might have to make similar.

Little known fact, cardboard is stronger than steel and can survive a swan attack for over 30 seconds (in dry conditions only).

This is the one I made for my little tweed champ from an old cabinet we were getting rid of:

Fixed for you. Considering how much the amp stand I wanted is the DIY approach is a no brainer. Loving the tweed covering.
