box for posting guitar in hard case

Ironing boards come in boxes from the manufacturer.  A local department or hardware store may let you have one.  May need cutting down a bit to suit, but still provides the cardboard outer you're seeking.

on another post recently someone suggested a push bike shop - I've had a few boxes from my local store recently and works okay - maybe need to trim some down a bit

thank you ... i'm in Cornwall though.  Royston is on the route I used to take between Cornwall and Norwich, several years ago!

Go round the back of any Pmt.. loads in the bins!

As previously mentioned pop to Halfords for a decent bike box. They are usually happy for you to take them.
