What's Hot

Hi all, I've just sold a couple of guitars (Suhr & Gibson) and need to post, was looking at UPS or DHL but it gets quite expensive with the insurance, any recommendations or advice would be gratefully appreciated.

Cheers

I tried overland, much cheaper than others,
but the basschat version looks cheapest, but I had already booked Overland

    £48 for £2k insured delivery

Interparcel seems to be a go to on the forum. Ive used them alot and they definitely insure guitars up to the full value which you specify.

I think it worth paying a little more for piece of mind. I did have to make a claim and it was relativity straight forward.

Its ok to insure up to the value and they will gladly take your money but the main thing is with with all couriers is if they pay in the event of loss or damage.

I always prefer sending guitars to my customers by carriage. Dobson is a good coachman and he will ensure the guitar gets to the customer safely.

You don't have to be really old - merely of a certain age.

Overland is excellent - their insurance is much cheaper than Interparcel etc (whose fees for that are extortionate).

APC via Overland are great, cheaper insurance, next day delivery and full tracking. Great service all round really.

Well let's hope it's true as I've just booked delivery of a hollowbody via their service!

They do advertise themselves as being specialists in musical instruments so fingers crossed.

Hi - new member here !

For what it's worth, I have always used Parcelforce via Parcel2go. If you are ok to send uninsured, it is around £12.50 plus vat for a regular 11kg boxed hardcase size. When adding in insurance, probably around £45-55.

I've gone for APC via Overland, glad to see the good reviews as I was actually starting to get a bit edgy as they do seem a bit like they are a home operation and I don't seem to have any tracking info as yet.

You won't get tracking info mate, you have to go on the overland website and find APC tracking. That takes you to a page where you input your consignment number and the delivery postcode. That gives you the info you want.

    Edit: this page https://www.overlandexpress.co.uk/track-your-parcel

The consignment number is on the address label you printed.
