Was it an EG240 Supreme or SE777 that he used on Gimme Shelter?

    Wow, thanks for posting. I love that solo and I’d not heard it isolated before. I think I’m finally going to bother learning it now too. Sounds pretty cool on that old Maton. I didn’t listen right to the end to see if I could hear the ‘pickup falling out on the last chord’ as Keith has suggested!

    Just imagine if he'd pulled out his Telecaster or Les Paul instead, it would have been one of the all time great Rolling Stones records

    Keith once said if you give him 5 minutes, he could get the same sound out of any guitar. I think he is a very underrated guitarist, and his 5-string trick may give some people the wrong impression  ;)
