Photoshop has much to answer for.

There's the germ of a good idea (read: a guitar I'd buy) in several of the PU guitars they've done, but they always find a way to spoil them! They seem to be keen on neck binding at the moment, which is a feature I've always hated.

Definitely. I would need to grow a beard out to play it, but might be worth it.

With the exception of the Maverick, it seems Fender are taking a lot of inspiration from partscasters.

I also think they are cheapskates for putting a Licensed Bigsby on a £2k guitar.

Seriously. Fender literally owns Bigsby. Nobody on earth can get them cheaper. No excuses...

Feels like the kind of guitars that will be £1499 tops by the time the January sales roll around...

That gold Maverick is damned cool, I'd have that... for an MIJ/MIM/Squier price.

I actually really like the Firebird pickup thing, to the point I’m already looking at building a Jag with Firebird pickups. But I don’t think I want to give Fender 2k for one. I also feel like it would be better with a little white pick guard where the switch is to make it more Firebirdy

Do you follow Curtis Novak on Instagram? He built a JM with Thunderbird pickups which looks amazing.

I like the look of the uptown strat but I’m guessing I won’t like the look of it’s price tag.

Agreed. Though I'd probably take the scratch plate off it.

I think the Parallel Universe/Pawn Shop thing is getting a bit played out.  Some of them look OK but there's always something I don't like.

They're missing the 3 pickup Black Tele Deluxe that looks like an 3 Pickup Les Paul Custom, gold hardware and all...

In the words of Ben Folds, "it was only fifteen grand". Well, nearly.

Interesting detail - the Uptown Strat is 24.75” scale. Thing is, now they’ve reissued the proper WRHB, I’m not sure how appealing any high end Fender will seem with any other model of humbucker.
Some of the gear, some idea
