Guitar hanger alternative or method?

i need to hang another guitar, but the only space is directly above the light switch.
which occurs to me has an electric cable running upwards behind the plasterboard to link to the central light in the ceiling.

so drilling for a couple of plasterboard fixings doesn’t sound like a good idea to me.  Wondering whether a wide / long timber batter with No More Nails will stick to plasterboard and hold the wait of a guitar

On the only other wall available, there are two double electric sockets.  My presumption (1St floor room) is that they don’t run upwards from there.

my alternative is to buy the Hercules 3 guitar stand (already have 2 guitars on the floor, hence wanting to get the new one up on a wall) but that will take up lots of room

any other suggestions ?

Don’t use no nails to fix the Batton. I’d fix the batton to the wall studs either side of the socket if possible then fix the hanger to the batton.

Good thinking Batman - although in this case (because of a wall return) I think there will only be one stud, or even one.  But that’s good thinking, thanks

Might not work for you, especially if your house is full of small people who bump into things a lot, but I love the Planet Waves guitar rest, which takes up no floor space at all. You just plonk it on a shelf or on your amp and it stops the guitar from falling over. Cheap as chips and nitro-safe, as well.

Is there going to be sufficient space to hang a guitar above the light switch?

Do you have a picture rail? If so, get the ones that hang off that. I've used them for years and they're solid

I assume you definitely know that the electric cables are there? You can get one of those testers to check.

Well they do look pretty expensive for one guitar hanger when I looked

Not that it helps but I use leather straps which go over the machine heads and form a loop above the headstock, means only have to put I hook ie one hole in

I have a few horizontal hangers in my office.

    Bit like this:

There some on eBay for £20. Not difficult to fit.
