Warning: fake eBay auctions

There's a seller, presumably on a hijacked account, putting out re-hashed old listings for cheap prices. Looks like he sold a Gibson for £1699 earlier to some poor sap.

I've flagged the listing as fraudulent to eBay but doubt they'll do anything.

Personally when reporting I use the live chat (it's at the bottom of this page: https://www.ebay.co.uk/help/policies/prohibited-restricted-items/replicas-counterfeit-items-unauthorised-copies-policy?id=4276&st=3&pos=5&query=Replicas, counterfeit items, and unauthorised copies policy). That seems to get a far quicker and more decisive response.

A couple of years ago there were fake Gibson listings going up every Saturday (literally dozens of them every time), all from hacked accounts. I duly reported the accounts via live chat and they were typically all gone within half an hour.

Not even a couple of years ago - they still pop up every month or so!

I reported an ES125 a few weeks ago that was using the (slightly cropped) photo as a seller from London who I know is 'proper'. Its still on ebay.

I'd be very wary of buying a guitar on ebay at least until I had had a dialogue with the seller first.

I hardly look on eBay these days for guitars. Anything decent is usually on Reverb
