Looking to get a re fret done ( stainless steel frets ). I live in north Essex but close to the Suffolk/Cambridgeshire borders. Anyone around this way who you’d use ? Thanks in advance.

Martyn Booth near Sudbury. A nice guy and luthier of note. Fantastic work.
Robbie Gladwell - (aka Dr Robert), same general area of North essex.

Both are usually quite busy, but I can't comment on present workload.

Having experienced Felines work finally, even though I'm in Leicestershire I think any future big work I need doing I'll be sending it to Jon to be honest. Yes it adds to the cost having to ship it, but his work is a step above tbh. Just something to consider maybe?

The yard is nothing but a fence, the sun just hurts my eyes...

  • Bill at Corvus guitars in Hilton, Cambridge.

I've had two evo gold reffrets on two different guitars from him in the past 6 months, and am planning a few more by the end of the year (if we're allowed to gig again!). Both guitars play amazingly well. Very reasonable rates, and super fast turn around. I couldn't recommend enough!

Matt @ Fidelity does servicing. https://www.fidelity-guitars.co.uk/services - no refret prices listed on his site but doesn't mean he can't, I would contact him. He's in Ely.

I am fully aware of his stunning guitars, I’m only 8 miles from him. The reason I never thought to use him was that I only thought he built his own stuff , not did general work.

No his general repair / servicing work is his bread and butter. His guitars are the icing on the cake and what an icing ;)

Well, to be "that guy", you did ask for a luthier rather than a tech ;)

I had a phenomenal refret and PLEK on my beloved Anderson by Charlie Chandler.
The guitar got damaged at a gig and after the refret there's no trace of the damage.

    Jonny Miller is north Essex.

He’s recently done a new nut, fret dress and setup on my mex tele. Flawless work and lovely guy.
