2nd choice: @stinkfoot - lovely tone and nice phrasing.
3rd choice: @stratman3142 - I always find those articulations with the trem bar interesting!

2nd : @stratman3142 - really nice laid back and atmospheric vibe on this one.
3 points : @susbemol : Proper jazzy, in terms of feel and notes, as I remember your playing of old. Lovely expression. A composite of a number of Steely Dan guitarists' styles - I'm hearing hints of Carlton, Dias, Khan...
1 point : @Bellycaster : Another one that sounds quite a bit 'Steely Dan'. Lovely melodies and phrases.
Good range of entries all round.
2nd: @susbemol - The sort of jazz stuff I can only pretend at doing. Lovely.
2nd @susbemol Smooth jazz lines
3rd @stratman3142 nice use of the trem arm
I think the key to this backing rack was recognizing the dissonant tension in the track and out of all of us only one truly embraced that. And of course i royally screwed up mine with my Benny Hill esque speeded up version lol So;
5 points @digitalkettle good dissonant tension
3 points @mudslide73 I liked it more
1 point @Bellycaster i liked it but slightly less
Ps ignore me, I'm a bit tipsy. Well done all.
I always enjoy your imaginative entries even though I don't always vote for them.
Also, happy to use backing tracks provided by others.
2nd 5
3rd 7
dunno who each one was done by. Actually I thought there were 5 that almost scored equal 1st, or at lease joint 1st and 2nd.
Supportact said: [my style is] probably more an accumulation of limitations and bad habits than a 'style'.
A true blind vote
So I make it:
5 points @susbemol
3 points @fastonebaz
1 point @Stinkfoot
3 points: @susbemol - builds nicely...agree with previous comments about evoking Steely Dan
1 point: @Stinkfoot - well played, nice compressed snap to the tone...bit dry though
Thanks for the vote. The ampsim is a tweaked version of the Robben'ish preset in Helix Native. The slight chorus effect is coming from the delay, which is NI Replika XT on a Tape setting with 30% Wow & Flutter. I think the Tape setting, which includes a small amount of Tape Age and Saturation, sweetens up the tone slightly as well.
Voting ends at midnight tomorrow.
5 Points @digitalkettle You really made that your own. Loved it, it somehow evokes an image of a night driving scene from an Mid 80's crime Thriller that only exists in my head
3 Points @susbemol Excellently Jazzy, Bluesy and Fusiony all at the same time. A great variety of tasty licks and phrasing there.
1 Point @stratman3142 Nice slow, seductive vibe and a wonderful tone. Nice deft touches with the Trem as well really added to the feel of it.
3pts @Stinkfoot
1pt @stratman3142
top job chaps!...
