blobb's Greco suggestion is good. Or Aria. Plenty of choice there.

Gibson's also. LPs or Marauders certainly worth considering.

I had a '75 birth year Tele Custom. Felt great, sounded better, had slight issues with the neck that wouldn't bother most but I couldn't get past it. If I were you I'd be checking out amps from that year, some tasty and relatively cheap bargains to be found.

Thanks all. I am seriously tempted to try and find a 75 Precision bass, as they tend to be decent. Other than that, I do not own a Gibson, so also worth a search. I saw there was a blue flake deluxe from the mid 70s that would be right up my street!

70s thinline teles always look very cool, though I’ve never played one to comment. Might be worth a look?

+1 for a Gibson. I've got a few good guitars but my favourite and the one I play 90% of the time is a 76 les paul. Mines got all the bad stuff too,pancake body,maple neck etc and it's sublime.

I’d look at washburns and arias from the Matsumoto factory
