Modern day Gibson nitro

I know it contains more plasticisers than the good old days, but does it vary on modern, ie 2020 models? 

The other sinkage thread got me thinking. 

On my lpj, its a made in the Us, nitro finished guitar, but obviously at the cheaper end of Gibsons stuff. 

I dont mind the finish but it sure does seem thick, and softer than poly. 

Not sure how this would be a benefit tbh as surely a harder finish would let the wood vibrate more? Anyway I digress. 

Is it likely to get battleworn and check etc over the years?

I’d like it to, the oldskool beaten up LPJ’s look great, but I have a feeling this wont go the same way naturally haha..
