Ebay hideous hand made guitar of the week

What's Hot

Comments

  • Almost literally Trigger’s broom.

Looks like the handle from something, bolted to a roasting tray, with a piece of vaguely Oriental looking decor as its soundboard. The “frets” do not accord with any known scale.

In short, a bedpan for somebody accustomed to squat toilets.
You say, atom bomb. I say, tin of corned beef.

I thought the body was a roasting tray at first. Then I started to consider the possibility of it being the under casing from some bathroom scales.

  • I actually laughed out loud when I saw that.

I’ve seen dirty strings before but those.. They are actually black!
The only easy day, was yesterday...

Look, it’s very easy to laugh and mock but if your kid came home from nursery with that, you’d be really proud ;)

I think that is a genuine guitar, honestly described.
From the pictures, you can see that it says 'DOH' on the upper bout.
    Says it all...
PS  will double as a pizza oven paddle  ;)

Why couldn't Townshend have smashed that instead of a nice Rickenbacker?

Because the body would have separated from the neck with the first windmill? ;)

    I like it.

It looks like the kind of thing a kid in Africa would make from an oil can and some fence wire, and play amazing music on.

Pretty sure my mother knitted that in the power cuts way back when .

  • I looked at the seller’s other items. Not sure how the guitar fits in. But if anyone is a size 7.5 and wants some shoes with the clown from IT on them, that’s where to go.

  • I thought it was the top of a kitchen chair for a second.

    Bye!

  • At the risk of being run out of town, the first thing I thought when I saw that was Millimetric.
My wife asked me to stop singing Wonderwall.
    I said maybe.....

  • I have a broken broomhandle in the shed and a roasting tray which is past it's prime. Time to become the next Paul Reed Smith, fame and fortune awaits!
I would love to change my username, but I fully understand the T&C's (it was an old band nickname). So please feel free to call me Dave.

I tend to see this guitar like @ICBM does.  It probably could be made playable easily enough.  The builder did a neat job routing the area for the tuning machines. Anything is possible, I once saw a three string electric guitar built from a Hurling caman.  Always keep an open mind....

What amazes me is that the owner thinks that someone might want to buy it.
