Jack socket replacement. Helo

Is it possible to replace this jack socket With standard guitar jack? 

The socket is quite loose I've tried bendiang the legs but no joy, the guitar has an active effects system which is powered by 2 8v batteries. 

Doesn't look like a stereo jack.

It probably is a stereo jack - the ring will be used to connect the ground on the power so the guitar is "on" when plugged in.

You can get replacement stereo jacks easily enough, eg: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Switchcraft-1-4-Stereo-Guitar-Jack-Socket/323262436837

That jack socket is a Japanese-made TRS “stereo” type. They can be found in guitars, drum machines and effects pedals.

Provided that the socket orifice is wide enough, a Switchcraft TRS jack would be the best choice.

No, that's a switched jack. You need a TRS/stereo, as described above.

The plain shield wire goes to the centre barrel, the white core wire goes to the tip contact and the orange (?) wire goes to the ring terminal. You may have to bend the two outer terminals in a bit to get it into the hole.

Switchcraft socket installed and all sorted now, was right about bending the legs to get it to fit . Thanks as always for the advice /help.
