Gretsch strap pin/lock problem

These: Just a stock image but the same as what I’ve got.

For those familiar.

The screw has a small phillips head on it and is screwed into the body. The knob then screws on by hand and locks the strap in position.

Standard Gretsch stuff.

The bigsby end one is the issue.
Unscrew the knob and it takes the threaded screw with it.. not supposed to.

I’ve screwed the screw back in tight, but once you then screw the knob on, and remove it, same deal.

Does anyone know what the screw threads into? Is it just the guitar body?
Guitar in question is a hollow body rat rod.

Incidentally I just got a follow up email from Peach asking how the guitar is.. no doubt I could tell them and they will fix for me, but it seems like a lotta hassle driving there for what might be a simple fix if I could do anything myself? + I have no case and no box so its a bit risky.

Though I’ve royally fucked up my Tele and accidentally bored the thread out to triple its size when trying to install fender strap locks lol...

Superglue the black screws into the body.
