You can do what you like but personally I like the idea that the assymmetry of the headstock is mirrored in the body.

I'm having a 43mm nut though, not the narrower late 60s type.

Hehe I didn't mean to imply that mine was the correct configuration! Just thinking ahead to whatever impulsive build I might get involved in.
