Got any tips for bevelling the edge of a pickguard?

What's Hot
I've just shaped and fitted one, but it's a bit thick so could do with a bevelled edge. I would guess that it is something that is pretty easy to bugger up, so just wondering if anyone has a technique?

Some vintage Fender ‘guards had a shallower angle, presumably to show more of the white/black/white border around the red/brown faux tortoiseshell.
You say, atom bomb. I say, tin of corned beef.

Yes 60° if you can find a suitable bit

Yeah  router and bit if you have the template for the guard.

You can do it with a file and scrapers, but its a 10 second job with the right router bit

When I did mine I used a rotary grinder tool - basically a very cheap copy of a Dremel. It worked well enough even for someone with no building skills but took quite a while.

Patience, and a half round file, and then some sandpaper.
It could take an hour or so, which might be cheaper than the above methods.

for I one off I would agree with this. a router is quick but also easy to mess up. one slip and it is easy to ruin the pickguard

File to remove the bulk, followed by a stanley knife blade used as a scraper.
