I have seen a nice looking 335 for sale, so just wanted to see if it seems legit. The headstock has some strange discoloration, which is quite common  - according to the seller.

Any input would be appreciated.
Cheers
Chris

Nope. It's a plain piece of screen about two inches deep. Avoid.

I am no expert at all on this but I've only seen genuine logo's that prominent on pretty old guitars, how old is this one?

I presume you're talking about the front side?

FWIW the lacquer lifting around the Gibson logo looks similar to what happened on my 1995 Les Paul after a year or so. I had it fixed under warranty as it was a known issue at the time.

Yes, I can't really tell what's happened to the logo from the photo.

According to the seller - it is 13 years old. So from 2007, I guess.

Thanks! Maybe I'm being overly cautious, so just wanted to check.

Yeah, thats a common feature of the gibson logo.  Everything else we can see looks right.

If you can make out the serial you can check which model it should be with gibson

That looks like a 2009 serial number from the pic. Headstock looks fine. Nice looking. Tuners look like they've taken a battering though. They look like a set of mine after I had tried to do a very amateur relic job on them. They look like that after being left in vinegar.

Looks ok to me. The logo on my 2008 Les Paul Custom has aged similarly with some crazing around the outline of the lettering.

Definitely genuine, but the condition of the machineheads and the truss rod cover screws would worry me - it looks like it's been left somewhere damp. What does the body look like?

Good spot! I didn't even notice the screws. The body seems fine. I should mention I'm in Seoul, Korea - and summertime here is ridiculously humid. Perhaps that caused the condition of the screws and pegs.

FWIW, my 2002 Yamano 335 had tarnished hardware like that. Every piece of nickel looked 50 years old including the machines. I put it down to being stored in the case prior to my ownership and the gassing off of the finish did it.
