Advice needed on spraying in the garage

I'm starting to think about setting up the garage for a bit of spraying.

Totally amateur stuff. I'm currently using MTN water based aerosols but I may well try some nitro once I've skilled up a little.

My first thought is SAFETY!!!!!!

I'm thinking of an A2P3 mask like this -

And something like this for heating as it could also be used on the patio -

Is that a good start safety wise?

If so, would that generate enough heat for the paint to flow well?

 I have   sprayed water based varnish  onto guitars with no problems . The  amount of spray in the air is  small and the materials are not  toxic. I made a booth from  polythene , to contain the overspray and wore a basic respirator mask  and goggles.  . I have sprayed  Cellulose out in the garden  with no problems.  To spray Cellulose indoors , the room needs to be ventilated and not too cold . Cellulose is explosive , so to heat your garage with a patio heater might be a bit  risky ?

Aaah right. I was under the impression that some heat was a good idea because the weather is turning cold and that is a problem for the paint. The last this I want to do is anything unsafe.

Elsewhere on the forum, somebody recommended something like these halogen lights, in part because of the heat they emit -

The patio heater was an extension of that thinking. Plus it's dual purpose makes it an easy sell at home.

I also thought about picking up a something like a secondhand MDF wardrobe for next to nothing to use as a makeshift spray booth.

I should add that the garage is a decent size, pretty empty, and I can easily leave the door fully open for ventilation.

Just leave the door open in the evening. The neighbourhood tom cats will do the rest.

It'd be good to know if these lights will provide the kind of heat necessary for the paint to flow nicely.

Hi Mike. Yes, that's a suitable mask, but its filters are not replaceable hence the cheaper price. Alternatively you can get this one:

I am not 100% though if the filters for those are A1P3/A2P3 and therefore suitable for filtering organic particles . The descriptions are vague, but reading the reviews some people say that they have used them for spraying paint (either using a gun or a rattle can). I wouldn't risk it to be honest, unless there is a definitive answer.

That's what I need to figure out as well, hence I have not progressed with my superstrat build I do not have a closed garage or a big shed or something similar, but even if I had the weather starts to get cold for such kind of work...
