Recommend some alternative strings

What's Hot
I've been using Ernie Balls since forever.
Thinking it is time for a change.
Whilst I love the sound of EBs, they go off quite quickly even when not being played often (guitars can hang on walls for months before being played).
Sounds are cleaning to high gain rock but not metal.

I changed from EB's to D'addario few years ago. They are superb. NYXL ones are even better, but more expensive.

Newtone. I'm a recent convert. Daddario NYXL also excellent.

+1 for Newtone. Sound and feel great and last a long time.

They don’t have a ‘new strings’ sound though, despite the name! They sound played-in from the start.

In that case you probably want Elixirs. They keep that new string brashness. (Which I hate...)

D'Addario, great strings and last ages. Lose that new twang after a few hours which is nice and mellow to a lovely balanced tone.
