Binding repair

What's Hot
Im sure this has been asked a lot but I need to make minor repair on some old royalite binging, some has come a little loose on the neck. What glue would be best to use?

some binding goop made by melting offcuts of binding in thinners.

    Or superglue.

really depends on the damage you are trying to repair.   Wicking superglue in is likely easiest and strongest if its just separated a bit

  • Thanks @WezV looks like superglue would be best and easiest for me. My only concern was with any reaction between a glue and the binding, will any superglue do?

I have not had superglue react with most binding types or lacquer,  but if it doubt its best to check on an inconspicuous area.

just be careful of dribbles and runs.

Just don't get any on the finish. Mask the surrounding area scrupulously

yeah, its much better to use a dropper of some kind rather than try to pour from the bottle or tube.   a cocktail stick  or similar works well.

never hold a bottle of open superglue over a guitar.... especially not if its the super thin kind!
