    I remember having dream cars.

Back in short-trousers days, it was probably a 911.  Black with cream leather and there was a long blonde haired lady in the passenger seat.  I never bothered with the rest of the spec.

When I had my first car (mk1 Escort 1300E no less!), the dream was a Mk2 RS1600.  I knew no better.

In later years, one of the original Audi RS2s - proper wolf in sheep's clothing in the days before everyone recognised (and disliked) Audi.

Nowadays, I'm really not sure that I have a dream car.  I've done the classic thing (P6 Rover 3500) but it was much better to look at from the outside than to drive on the inside.  I've done the unnecessary sporty car thing (Mk2 TT 3.2) which was fun but I'd always jump into the A6 instead for boring practical reasons.

Nowadays the roads are too busy and there are too many cameras around, that the capabilities of most cars are completely pointless.
    :(
Having trouble posting images here?  This might help.

I tried the Lotus version of that - the Europa. Marvellous thing. Darned near impossible to get back out of it though.

The Elise/Exige are the Lotus versions. Europa is bigger :)

Nope - the Europa and VX220 have the same wheelbase and engine, the Elise and Exige are smaller than both.

Sorry my mistake, an image of the Evora popped into my head when I read Europa. Doh!

    Ah, I getcha.

Though on further investigation it seems that the Europa is a mix of VX and Elise. Anyways, it was a magnificent thing to drive. Probably the most fun I've had in a car that wasn't on snow or a skid pan.

Having done the sports car thing, do I go for something more bizarre that I yearned for as a teen: Panther Deville? RR Camargue? Steed's XJ-C? The NSX will be sold this week, and there's no point leaving the £££s in the bank.

Vector W8... looks properly bonkers, more angular-wedgy than even the Countach. Maybe I'm getting old?

Oooooh jelly, I love an NSX. Big Honda fan over here.

If I had something else for practical purposes, carrying gear etc, then I would love one of these:

As for said practical car... my ideal situation at the minute would just be a newer Civic than mine... one of the current (outgoing) models, with the 2.2 diesel. Biiiiiiiiig mpg, plenty of poke and also a massive boot.

I actually really like the station wagon version of the current civic. Cool looking car.

I think it would have to be one of these...

I can't help about the shape I'm in, I can't sing I ain't pretty and my legs are thin

But don't ask me what I think of you, I might not give the answer that you want me to

    I see what you mean:

    Double pop-ups FTW!

In my more sensible moments, I'm wanting a Volvo P1800. But I have to perfect the ability to raise one eyebrow first.
