Laser engraver for inlays etc

Has anyone used one of the CNC lasers (e.g. Eleksmaker) to cut inlays and mark the apertures for them on headstock, fingerboard etc?
Ideally to be controlled from a Mac.

Its possible, but you do need to be careful using lasers on pearl, it can turn to dust.

Works fine on thinner pearl and most other materials
