Recommend software for laying out pedal controls, sockets etc

What's Hot
I'm building a pedal at the moment that has a lot of sockets, buttons and leds. I'd like to plan the layout in detail before I start drilling. I wonder if anyone knows of a good solution other than pen and paper.

Use cardboard first to make sure anything fits and has enough clearance under / above it. Basically make a cardboard enclosure the same dimensions as the real box . Any problems like side mounted sockets fouling on pots will become apparent then.

That's what I'd use. I designed my kitchen using it plus every guitar part I've (had) made.

I’ve only used it for rough layouts tbh - basically draw a rectangle for the box with circles for the knobs, and resize/move around the graphics and lettering for the decal befire printing it out.
