Sad to hear of the death of Doris Hobday, one half of the 96 year old Tipton twins. A great pair of characters, so sad to lose your twin sister after all those years.

Good old Tipton - I'm a long way away now but the though of pork and stuffing sandwiches and Banks' mild is a warming one..

Ahh, sad. 

My parents and various relatives came from the Tipton area. When I stayed with my grandmother in Ocker Hill during school holidays I remember going up the Asda or to Fags n Mags to buy sweets. Those ladies very much like many elderly relatives I remember from my youth. 

Not a lot of old Tipton left, although if anyone is ever in the area I can’t recommend the Black Country Living Museum in Dudley highly enough.
