Can anyone recommend a sturdy three way microswitch able to withstand regular enthusiastic use?

Ideally I'd like something between the standard 3 way selector and the tiny easily broken microswitches

  • What's the use-case? And what do you mean by "standard 3 way selector" and "tiny easily broken microswitches"

    It's for a series/parallel switch. I need a DPDT

    Standard 3 way selector

    Easily broken Microswitch

(The pic shows the centre-off version, but the spec is for the plain DPDT.)

  • thanks. is that shaft going to be long enough, though?

here's a couple of others i found. would appreciate more expert advice on whether they're appropriate:

If anything I thought you might think it was too long!

No. Those are on-off-on, (on)-off-(on) - ie momentary - and (on)-on (same). The middle one is a mini as well.

    You need on-on only.

  • thanks. with an on-off-on, presumably the mid position could be a kill, which might also be useful. e.g. up = parallel, down = series, middle = off

Sort of, except that it will be open circuit rather than mute so it will hum.

Depends on the specific circuit. Some control harnesses for Seymour Duncan P-Rail pickups employ a centre off mini switch per pickup for the coil splittage. Up grounds one coil. Down grounds the other coil. The centre off grounds neither coil, leaving the P-Rail in series (humbucker) mode.
