That's really lovely, nice colour and looks great with the rosewood fingerboard.

Talk me through how you got the grain through, presumably dark grain filler with light coats of colour over?

I picked up the body and it had a very thick coating of tru oil over it, I sanded it right back but quite a bit remained in the pores, I then just grain filled with rustins natural and sprayed Steve Robinsons clear orange nitro, followed by light tint and clear.

Thanks. Looks a great result. I have a Tele in LPB to do with some grain through, will use Steve's nitro spray cans. 

Was thinking of using a coloured grain filler.

I guess it depends on the wood, this had pretty pronounced figuring naturally - swamp ash

Shouldn't a Dickinsonocaster be walnut?

I’d stick fake blond fur on the headstock, and call or a Trump-o-caster.

That's very nice! Doesn't look too orangey from here, just like it's got some age to it.
