A success

I recently found an old Tanglewood acoustic in a skip. Action was high as a mountain and 5th and 6th fret and the D and G strings played the same notes.
Today (a bit scary) I successfully adjusted the truss rod for a nice low action and filed and polished the offending fret so it now plays perfectly.
A bit chuffed with myself.

Is the Tanglewood a straightforward acoustic guitar or did it come with a piezo undersaddle transducer and onboard controls?
You say, atom bomb. I say, tin of corned beef.

Might be worthwhile to fit a soundhole magnetic pickup for home recording or open mic nights (if those ever return).

  • Yeah. I do have an old Crafter with a piezo bridge, but the battery clip has gone missing (can't find any replacements).
Have to say the Tanglewood sounds nice, if a little mellow sounding but nothing a bit of EQ can't fix
