MacBook air screen

Have a 3 year old MacBook air and it looks like the screen has gone (only displays the first 10 lines or so) fortunately it works with an external screen so I can get all the data off it.
Assuming I have all the correct tools, is it likely not be an easy fix (i.e. a dodgy ribbon cable) or given the move to M1 uneconomical to repair.
