I have obviously heard of this Band and it's Members, but only ever heard a couple of tracks.

This came up on my feed today. Wow, I think I had an Eargasm.

Most notably, the section between 4:29 and the Crescendo at 7:57.

I expect you might get some saying that section is not musical, but to me that section is utter genius.

Wow, just...........Wow and now he's got Toyah's Headlamps as a reward

Best listening to the whole track for context though, innit!

    Brilliant album.
The first KC album I heard was the classic In The Court Of The Crimson King and have been hooked ever since.
In fact it was the Island sampler compilation LP Nice Enough To Eat that brought KC to my attention along with the many other great artists on that album.

I was blown away a few years ago, when I realised I was hearing Starless live, which I had assumed would never happen, seen it a few times since then and it's often the highlight of the show for me.

Red is one of their best albums. Try Larks Tongues in Aspic next, it’s got some fabulous stuff on it, or USA which is a great live album from around the same era.

Red is a superb album, one of the best. As mentioned here previously, I cynically abused the facilities at Art college and screen printed myself a 'Red' T-shirt back at the start of the 80s.

I like a lot of the early stuff, and Discipline is a wonderful album, but I've not really engaged with later stuff.

Listen to Fracture - a classic track!

Cool is Gini still alive ?

Peter Sinfield got Gini Barris, to do Lizard's outside cover artInside is song lyrics printed over a marbled pattern by Koraz Wallpapers (run by Barris' boyfriend at the time). Lizard was her job after studying graphics at Central School of Art & Design in London. She contacted Sinfield after hearing he wanted a cover artist. She suggested creating medieval miniatures and Sinfield went for it. She didn't hear the music until after the album's release, but worked from the lyrics. She cited theLindisfarne Gospel and Très Riches Heures du Duc de Berry illuminated manuscriptsas her inspiration.

Red is probably one of the more accessible albums in the KC catalogue, and has some wicked stuff on it.

The trouble with KC's revolving-door lineup in the 70s is that their albums all sound quite different to each other- there's no guarantee that if you like one you'll like others. Well worth having a listen to find out though.

Don't talk politics and don't throw stones. Your royal highnesses.

I'm a huge fan of eighties Crim, not so much the 70's era. 'Three of a Perfect Pair' is a beautiful record.
