Not receiving notifications via email

Hello, I recently joined the forum and really like it, but I haven't been receiving notifications via email. I've gone to 'edit profile' and 'notification preferences' and ticked all the boxes. I'm using GMail, searching the help forum I see there might have been some problems for people using certain email types. Would it be worth me changing my email to a different one, or can anyone suggest anything that might sort it?

Me too , started here with hotmail and when the problem started with them switched to gmail and don’t get those either !

This is probably not the place to put this but I'm with Gmail and I receive notifications.
