Simple as that really, I believe the American Series was from 2001 to 2007.

Looking for some of these, anyone out there with a set of old strat pickups they want rid of?

Hey man, how's it going...  long time no speak Hope all good with you both

Nothing for sale but I have these strats
2004 50th LE anni american series
2004 50th LE anni deluxe series with S1 switching
2006 60th LE anni diamond strat
2007 CS custom classic with 2 modrn classic & bridge hot classic
plus several strats circa 2015 to give  ahealthy comparison

All probably have the sort of pups you are after. You are welcome to come over and try them just to make sure which one maybe sounds/matches the one in your head so you can maybe pinpoint the pup further. Not for sale though LOL
Altho maybe you already played one and know for sure which pup series you want
