Would this enclosure/box do me for a custom midi controller?

Okay, so I have one of these:

I've never done anything with it, because of a lack of a need and an enclosure. But now I'm thinking about my pedalboard, and can see this space along the second row which would fit perfectly for a DIY amp controller. My Diezel D-Moll supports midi. All I need is the ability to send three program changes - 1, 2, 3 - from three footswitches.

Enter this bad boy:

It looks like it might be a slight pain to work with, as it has no bottom only side panels, so I'd have to slide the PCB and switches in from the side. Might be a bit fiddly but the dimensions are good.

It looks to be roughly 220mm (L) x 125mm (W) x 47mm (H)

Since I only need three switches that should give me enough clearance between the switches. What do you think?

I always avoid those as usually the centre is hollow with bolt on ends offering little support to compression across the main section when stomped on - and the larger they are the bigger that issue becomes.
