A Dano U2 was my first guitar around '98-'99, these are bloody great guitars and an absolute tonne of fun. Mine was in "commie red" but yours is a lovely colour! GLWS

Cheers guys! Sounds great too. I thought they would be weak sounding but no,  the pups breakup nicely when driven. I was using it as a Keef guitar.

They weigh sod all and are brilliant. I had one identical to this and a seafoam green Convertible and I really miss them both.

I'd say closer to bantam or perhaps even flyweight

Acquired a '59 recently off here, and would have to second all the comments above - Id no idea what to expect, but I just love the thing.

Fab for the money, and a great guitar to leave in alternative tunings.

All good. Someone’s gonna get a cracker. I have a few models over the years. Always regretted selling them especially the Dano Pro model, the weird box shaped one.

No seriously I really do like those danelectros. I sold one just like that to a guy through either the forum or gumtree, we met at Victoria station, maybe that was you, not sure. But I really do think they're very cool guitars.

I've got one just like this. I pulled it out today to stick it on eBay but it just sounds too nice to let go of!

This morning, I collected one of these on behalf of a well-known Fretboarder. Lightly battered. Needs a little TLC. Tremendous fun. Wicked slide sounds. Bottom string gets very interesting when down tuned. (Sadly, the upper four do not!)

How much clearance have you left between the strings and the first fret? The high E string on my example cleared the first fret by 12 thou'. (Fine for slide but annoying to fret conventionally.) I know that it can go lower.
