Latency chug driving me mad, any alternatives to record rough multitracks quick?

Doesn't even matter if I set the frigging latency, it just chugs on, on it's own rate, by it's own terms and those cast by the disciples of Microsoft, Google and eternal advertising.  Sick of it.  Give me a Tascam PortaStudio. I hate computers.

How's that work?  We've got several wedges, powered and unpowered mixers.  I don't understand.

Could you elaborate on your problem as I'm not sure I understand what the problem is.  Is it that the driver latency doesn't change when you set it?  What interface are you using?

Fair enough, I'm just ranting.  Focusrite 2i2 2nd generation with an old Dell with I7 with integrated graphics/sound card runnig windows 10 on minimal upload speed.  Think I need to swap the computer.  Any suggestions?

Focusrite support are pretty responsive, if you haven't already tried that route.  I've dealt with them a few times and they've been great.

I'II try just think the computer is old. Talked to a bandmate today.  Need to upgrade, but I'm loathe to pay for a computer.  I need a Mac in all fairness and apparently they do take updates OK.

PC is fine if u can work out the problem. If there is latency when trying to record parts, u can use direct monitoring to overcome it.

Direct monitoring is the cheapest way to get round it, and turn off as much as you can do without when adding a new track.
