Super chearp multiFX for headphone use?

Looking to get something to use at home with headphones.

What are my best options for something really cheap that will sound half decent. Pod? Zoom?

I think you're spoiled for choice.

I use a Pocket POD, but that has no loop/drum function.

What sort of tones are you after?

Remember, it's easier to criticise than create!

Zoom g3 is excellent and is what I use. The smaller zoom g1on seem equally as good for very little money indeed.

If you have an iPad/phone/pod on ios then Jamup is great too. Make sure to get an interface that plugs in to the charger, not the headphone port. I use a Line 6 Sonic Port.

I have a  Digitech RP200A for sale for 50quid posted. Used it for practice a lot as it has a drum machine built in.

+1 for the Zoom G3. Plus you can have 6 pedals at your feet and treat it like a proper pedal board

  • It would appear that the main reason to avoid the G1ON is that it looks ridiculous. I use the pocket pod, which sounds great but IMHO is better at heavy tones than cleans (although they sound good too). If you have an iOS device there's lots of good stuff on there apparently too.
