Not that I have one to sell (sorry) but I think they changed the name a couple of times - Big Apple, Double Fat Strat, maybe even Stratocaster HH.  Would any of those do, or does it have to be the Big Apple?

I had a Double Fat in Shoreline Gold for a while, the appeal for me was in the fact it was available as a hardtail.

  • If it's a HH hard tail Phil, then it might as well be a Tele or a Gibson style guitar right?

Or is there something special about a HH hard tail strat?

Except some people (me included) do not like Gibson scale length

I like hardtail Strats in general, the fact it was HH was really more of a novelty, although I do like humbuckers more than single-coils... most of the time.  I think....

And yeah, I take your point that it might as well be a Tele or a Gibson, although I think there are fundamental differences between Fender style bolt-on guitars and Gibson style set-necks.  But I tend to think of a Tele or a Strat as essentially a body shape, I'm not at all hung up on pickup configurations or traditional vintage specs.  Although vintage specs are cool too.

Anyway, this is dragging the thread off topic.  Apologies @Blaendulais.

  • Red one in Worthing is a USA model, not mexican. Headstock - made in usa. Serial no. N 97... which is USA 97 numbers - i have a N97... US 90s Tele Thin line so am familiar with etc. IMHO, this is a great year for Strats, Teles etc.
