GAS has bitten courtesy of the lovely @*Aaron* and his equally lovely (former) Gibson SG Special that’s now sitting on a stand in my front room. I need to sell two guitars to recoup the spend, so no trades I’m afraid. Both of these are one-offs and play beautifully. Sad to see them go but <grits teeth> needs must.

My Purple Scccchparkle Gretsch G5439 Electromatic Pro Jet. Original white Gretsch pearloid and Joker pickguard both included. This model is now discontinued which is a shame as it offers a fantastic, lightweight gateway Gretsch Jet experience. Also it sparkles #WIN. Only selling this due to loving it so much that GAS overwhelmed me and I ended up buying a much more expensive Players Edition version. What can I say? I'm weak...

It’s a fantastic guitar that will give any LP a run for its money if anything from blues to punk to heavy rock is what you’re after. And don’t be fooled, the Blacktop Filtertrons on board pack a mighty punch and while they’re (obviously) gorgeous for cleans they’ve been designed with gain in mind so have more of mid punch that “regular” Filtertrons. This means juicy searing lead tones and a degree of clarity when you hit a distortion soaked chord or arpeggio that a humbucker just can’t match.

This guitar originally sported a Silver Sparkle finish but I fancied something a bit different, so, thanks to Flakeys Custom Paint Studio, it had a Kandy Voodoo Violet layer added over the top and is now the luscious purpley sparkley goodness you can see in the pics. It comes with its original Gretsch white pearloid pickguard and the custom made Joker themed pickguard you can see in the pics too.

I’ve upgraded the pots to Alphas and wiring/soldering have been redone so that everything is now working as it should. The tuners got an upgrade too; to Wilkinson EZ-locks as the originals were guff so it now holds its tuning like a boss. It’s in great nick with only a few visible dings on the rear of the body (see pics) and currently features a lovely low action and a fresh set of 9s. It comes with a gigbag too.

Here’s a YT demo of a fella throwing some gain and cleans at one:

And one to show both pickguards. It's an absolute bugger of a finish to take pics of! The top pic was taken in the evening with an uplighter on in the sitting room, and the bottom on a sunny day around lunchtime. I'd say the lower pic is more representative of the overall colour especially when the top is under direct light. It's a sparkle purple so shifts between violet and flashes of cerise. I hope that helps but feel free to fire over any questions and I'll do my best to answer them.

Yamaha Revstar RS502. **PINSTRIPE DECAL IN SOME PICS OPTIONAL**

Yamaha have been kicking it out the park with the Revstar range and over the past few years guitarists everywhere have come to respect the high build quality, performance and ease of playability this range offers. This one has been modded and refinished with the aim of creating a one off Revstar RS502 that is a bit flashier looking but still fits that “Hotrod” vibe these guitars are known for, and one that also comes with a set of hand wound Oil City P90s that elevate the guitar’s ability to provide killer clean and gain tones to the next level. Frankly, it’s an absolute BEAST.

The specs of an RS502 as it comes out of the factory can be found here: https://www.yamahamusiclondon.com/Revstar-RS502-Electric-Guitar/pidGRS502SPB

And here’s a list of the mods this guitar has undergone:

·       Top and headstock refinish in sparkling flip flop blue/green

·       A set of Oil City Masterwound Jin-Go P90s (handwound by Ash himself) installed. Info here: https://www.oilcitypickups.co.uk/product-page/jin-go

·       0.22 cap added to tone pot at Ash’s recommendation to really let those P90s sing.

·       Push/push tone pot installed to activate the “Dry Switch” - this resets the guitars EQ spread which gives it a much more traditional (think Strat) single coil voice without, and this is very cool indeed, losing any volume.

·       Satin brown tort pickguard and matching truss rod cover (original black ones also included)

·       Pinstripe green and white vinyl decal added. Can easily be removed without leaving any discolouring or residue on the guitar. If you’d prefer me to do this let me know.

·       Blue abalone dot fretboard sticker added. Again, can be removed should you wish.

·       Yamaha Revstar gig bag included

The guitar is absolutely mint, and in as new condition

Yes, I’m aware these guitars cost £499 in the shops but you can’t buy one that either looks or sounds like this. If it rocks your boat, best jump fast. If it doesn’t then please feel free to scroll on by.

Price: £460 *NOW SOLD*
