Memory Man Deluxe nano vs Crazy Tube Circuits TI:ME - which one?

Hi all,

In the market (soon-ish) for an interesting delay. I already have a SA Nemesis and a Strymon Volante. Between them I have the vintage tape / drum and multi-type delays covered, so thinking of something more lo-res and characterful. Thinking one of either the new EHX Memory Man Nanos or otherwise the CTC TI:ME (based on the old MXR 113).

The CTC sounds absolutely amazing to me. So far I only have the EHX vid to go by, but the DMM is a classic for good reason.

Any suggestions?

Ta,

C

I reviewed the TI:ME back in the summer, but haven't yet tried the EHX yet.

I think the JAM Delay Llama Xtreme is a fabulous BBD delay pedal and well worthy of consideration. Its a good price (often can be had for £210 second hand), has presets, modulation, trails, tap tempo and footswitchable oscillation.

On top of all of that it sounds great. Like really great.

Awesome. Thanks for the review. Had a read. It really does look like a good pedal. CTC make some great stuff. BTW - does it go 100% wet / have a kill-dry?

    Ta.

Thanks. Heard lots of praise for it. Oddly didn't even consider it. But will now!

The Solid Gold EM-III has been on my board ever since it got released. Same size as the EHX Nano but with top jacks. Two footswitches for Tap and Bypass that also double up as Warp and Glitch (shitloads of fun). Also has a switch for number of heads and octave. Lush modulation options that can get crazy if you want them to be.
Sounds more complicated than it is but honestly, it is SO easy to use but extremely versatile which is the best of both worlds.

The only slight negative I can give it is that I wish I could save presets. Like, even three would be enough. Saying that though it’s great.

I now have the TI:ME - and I dig it. Most useable modulation on a delay I've ever used.

I've got one of these...it was the variable mod which sold me.

I'm actually still getting used to it.
Anything I've owned before has had a lot more fidelity.

In fact, my current settings are:
    • Mix - 8 o'clock
    • Feed - 8 o'clock
    • M/sec - tap!
    • Tone - 2 o'clock
    • Mod - 8 o'clock
Hmmm...I think that tells me something ;)
