I recently bought a set of Alegree old timers , 59 PAF’s’ for bang on your budget……
You can pick and choose mags / resistance ??? Choice of covers - I chose aged Nickel…..  I basically matched mine up (spec wise) to a pair of montys PAFs? Not saying they’re anywhere as good or an exact match, but gives you something to aim for??

Damn fine pickups for the money.

@flyingv i did look at those but didn’t wanna go down the rabbit hole of different magnets etc

Yeah I know what you mean?  

I just watched loads of PAF comparison demos - they’re’s  tons out there! and kept getting drawn back towards the Montys? 

As I say, gave me a good idea on where to start i.e magnets and stuff ??
 

Again, that was a particular type I was looking for? I guess it boils down to what your after sound / tone wise?

How odd! The forum software really does have its moments.

I'm selling a BB1 & 2 set with chrome covers, they're on ebay at the moment but I'd take great pleasure in not having to use that platform.
