    With the right slapback delay setting, the neck pickup sound would be great for Les Paul & Mary Ford instrumentals.

    Alternatively, try it with the tone control rolled back and pile on more gain. 

    It is possible to ride the feedback at stage sound pressure levels. Different resonances occur at different positions and angles relative to the amplifier loudspeakers.
