Here we have a guitar my Uncle gave to me around 10 years ago. He's happy for me to move on as I don't play it as much as it should be played, I’m a single coil addict!

Its a gorgeous 1996 US Starfire 4, I have the original case which I can shoot some pics of later. It has some wear on the neck binding and a dink to the top of the headstock with minor marks elsewhere. The biggest thing to note is the addition of an acoustic bridge, activated by a switch in place of an existing tone knob. This conversion was undertaken by Bill Puplet one the countries leading guitar techs, as this formed part of The Pretenders guitarists arsenal Bill was chosen to undertake the addition. *UPDATE - this is a Bertoloni pre amp system and a great quiality conversion as you’d expect, I’ve never opened it up before but now I have - changed the battery and put back together however talking to my Uncle it’s activated by using a stereo lead going to two mono jacks - a normal lead would be just electric only.
The switch would be 1 electric gtr, 2 electric/ acoustic and 3 just acoustic. Now tried and working - will include the lead.

Great sounding with a superb neck, plays easy and sounds as it should.

What's up with the neck binding - is it cracked?

@hessodreamy yeah, I think its shrinkage? Towards the top of some of the frets got a few of them on it but I’ve never noticed playability wise.

@hessodreamy hardly at all tbh, they're their of course but honestly, doesn't interfere with playability at all.

* Just to confirm the acoustic bridge switch option is fully working with use of a stereo lead - just tried it today as the lead has arrived so will include this too, updated IMGUR for lead pic and appalling video but you get the gist.
