Sold: Gibson Murphy Lab ’59 ES-335 Reissue Ultra-light Aged

I've seen something old pop up that I fancy and as it is one in one out I've hummed and harred but have ultimatley decided to test the water with my ML ES335, owned from new by me.

Without a doubt the best 'new' ES I've played whilst being the hardest to photograph!

Muphy Lab 'Ultra-light'wear which translates to lacquer checking and a few odd chips on the binding and headstock. Never gigged (covid guitar!)

Neck is a real delight: 59 shape with beautifully rolled edges and custom shop fret work (the good kind). Also has a lovely dark board. Unpotted custom buckers just sound brill.

I'm aware there is alot of controversy around the new ML stuff but I love it, finally the lacquer feels hard and thin much like my old Gibsons.

Asking £3900 firm which I think is a great price given the cost of a new one and what people are asking for Memphis ES’s. The Nashville custom shop ES’s really are a step above the Memphis versions in my humble opinion. 

Oh and it's black, everyone knows black guitars are the coolest!

Wow - stunner! - And I agree re the Custombuckers - I have those on an R9 - comtemplated Montys but changed my mind as I like the custombuckers very very much. Best Gibson pickups I’ve heard so far.
